FORMER CHILD

Hello Friends:

This newsletter was inspired by a dinner at a restaurant.  An adult gave a child a choice that wasn’t a “real” choice.  Hope you enjoy.

Many of you have been asking how to receive my new book titled: GET OVER IT: Relearning Guidance Practices.  Just send me your email address and I will send you an order form.

Peace

Dan

Hello Friends:

Sending unclear messages to children is one of the causes of guidance and discipline issues.  Hopefully this newsletter will assist in the development of clearer messages.

Hello Friends:

Hope 2013 is filled with many good experiences for children and families.  I was looking at my poster in the office the other day and decided it was time to talk about Self-Esteem again.  With the many tragic events that occurred in 2012, I can’t help but think what a strong impact early childhood professionals have on children and their development for a lifetime.  Keep making the world a better place.

Hello Friends:

Went on my annual trip to a major toy store to see what they considered to be the top toys for young children.  Again, I was disappointed to see so much plastic, battery operated, electronic gadgets….This my annual plea for giving gifts to young children newsletter.

Happy Holidays

Hello Friends:

The question regarding putting children in lines and the challenges it creates has been coming up a lot lately in workshops.  So it is the focus of this newsletter for November.

Hello Friends:

I was at the apple orchard the other day and saw a group of preschoolers, lined up, all hanging onto a rope…This clicked on my memory of how I used to take my group of preschoolers to the apple orchard every Fall thinking they would get a better grasp of how apple cider is made and where pumpkins come from.  Thus this months newsletter.  Who is that Field Trip Really For?

Enjoy

Hello Friends:

In these times when people are talking about “readiness” skills we often forget what is really important for children as they arrive at your doorstep.  Hopefully this newsletter will help as a reminder……

Hello Friends:  So many of you wrote and requested that I continue with the newsletter.  So here it is.  The difference now is people can decide if they want to read it and/or  print it out for others.  Let others know it is available and have fun with it.

Peace
